The ICA-EU partnership aims to bring the cooperative model to the next level within international development policies and programs. The research work displayed here is designed to support activities focused on visibility, advocacy, capacity building, strengthening cooperative development networking. The online database provides an operational tool for members and stakeholders, and will help in developing policy recommendations with regard to creating an enabling environment for cooperatives in the different regions and countries.
The ICA-EU Partnership mapping research is jointly conducted by the ICA and its four regional offices – Cooperatives of the Americas, Cooperatives Europe, ICA Africa, and ICA Asia-Pacific – using a common methodology developed in collaboration with the European Research Institute on Cooperative and Social Enterprises (EURICSE). Each office collect the input of ICA members present in the countries within its geographic area, using the same questionnaire, and completing it with relevant national statistics, in order to obtain an accurate picture of the national situation.
The ICA-EU Partnership legal framework analysis research is jointly conducted by the ICA and its four regional offices – Cooperatives of the Americas, Cooperatives Europe, ICA Africa, and ICA Asia-Pacific – using a common methodology developed in collaboration with the European Research Institute on Cooperative and Social Enterprises (EURICSE). The work assesses cooperative legislation by country, in order to document and monitor the implementation of cooperative legislation and policies worldwide.
